Festive Evenings at Polhill: Creative Christmas Events in Kent

Polhill Garden Centre is well-known and well-loved for it’s seasonal fun and fantastic offers for families, from our beloved Santa’s Grotto to our Toy Events to keep the kids busy in summer. This year, we have expanded our Christmas offer with something a little different: a series of festive workshops on weekend evenings aimed at adults, parents, couples and friends who want to wind down, relax and get creative in the stressful run-up to Christmas.

Taking place in our cosy restaurant marquee, each workshop combines craft, conversation and Christmas spirit – complete with a glass of Prosecco and complementary festive nibbles. Whether you are looking for a romantic couples activity this Christmastime or a fun evening out with friends, these events are the perfect way to unwind on a weekend and get in the Christmas spirit!

Willow Wreath Making Workshops

Saturday 8th November & Friday 28th November
5.30 pm – 7.30 pm | £45 per person

Get hands-on with natural materials and create your own sustainable Christmas wreath that will not only last year after year, but can also be re-decorated for each season! Local craftswoman Nicola Claxton will guide you step by step through traditional willow weaving techniques, helping you design a beautiful home-made wreath.

Tickets include all materials, a glass of Prosecco on arrival and festive nibbles. No experience is needed, just bring enthusiasm (and clothes you don’t mind getting a little messy!).

Watercolour Christmas Card Workshop

Saturday 29th November
5.30 – 7.30 pm | £35 per person

Join local artist Suzanne Abraham for a festive evening of creativity. With Suzanne’s guidance, you will paint 2-3 Christmas watercolour cards, just in time to gift to a loved one.

Suzanne’s sessions are relaxed, friendly and beginner-friendly, making this workshop ideal for anyone wanting to try something new or enjoy a unique evening out with friends. Tickets include high-quality materials, festive nibbles and a glass of Prosecco on arrival.

Christmas Candle Painting Workshop

Friday 5th December
5.30 – 7.30 pm | £35 per person

Have a go at something new this Christmas with Tired Starling Studio, run by London-based artist and maker Katie Wells. Her workshops are welcoming, beginner-friendly spaces where participants can explore craft, self-expression and mindfulness.

In this workshop, you will design, hand-paint and take home a pair of taper candles to take home, the perfect addition to your Christmas table or as a thoughtful handmade gift.

Enjoy a glass of Prosecco, festive nibbles and plenty of creative inspiration in a relaxed, social setting. No experience required, just bring your imagination!
