Polhill BBQ School Terms & Conditions

By booking or participating in a class at Polhill BBQ School, you agree to the following terms and conditions. These apply to all sessions held at Polhill Garden Centre or affiliated locations.

  1. Booking & Payment
All bookings must be made through our official website or authorised sales platforms. Payment is required in full at the time of booking to secure your place. We reserve the right to refuse bookings at our discretion.
  2. Cancelllations & Transfers
If you wish to cancel your place, you must notify us in writing at least 7 days before your scheduled class to receive a full refund. Cancellations made within 7 days are non-refundable. You may request to transfer your booking to another available date, provided we receive at least 72 hours’ notice. This is subject to availability. Non-attendance without notice will be treated as a cancellation.
  3. Class Format & Grouping
Each BBQ School class accommodates up to 12 participants. There are 6 grills or ovens available per class, and participants will be paired up to share equipment. By booking a place, you accept that you may be paired with another guest and will be sharing a cooking station.
  4. Health, Safety & Participation
BBQ School sessions involve the use of open flames, hot surfaces, sharp tools and food preparation. All participants must follow safety guidance provided by instructors. Suitable clothing, including closed-toe footwear, must be worn. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult, unless otherwise specified. You must be physically able to take part in cooking activities; if you have concerns, please let us know before booking.
  5. Food Allergies & Dietry Requirements
You are responsible for informing us of any allergies or dietary requirements at the time of booking or no later than 7 days before the class. While we take reasonable care to minimise cross-contamination, our environment is not allergen-free. Participation is at your own risk, and we are not liable for any allergic reactions or food-related issues.
  6. Alcohol, Refreshments & Sunday Trading
Alcohol may be available to purchase during your class. You must be 18 or over and may be asked to show ID. Soft drinks may be included in your ticket if specified at the time of booking; otherwise, they will be available to purchase on the day. Please note that on Sundays, due to legal trading regulations, no products may be sold before 10:30 or after 16:30. This includes alcohol, soft drinks, barbecues, accessories, and any other retail items. Purchases can only be made during these hours on Sundays, in line with UK trading laws.
  7. Behaviour & Conduct
Polhill BBQ School aims to provide a welcoming, respectful and safe environment for all participants and staff. We have a zero-tolerance policy towards abusive, threatening or aggressive behaviour directed at our team or fellow guests. Any participant displaying such behaviour will be asked to leave immediately and no refund will be given. Disruptive or unsafe conduct, including refusal to follow safety instructions, may also result in removal from the class at the discretion of the instructor. This is to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all attendees.
  8. Recording & Content Use
Participants may take photos or record content during the class, provided it does not disrupt the session or compromise safety. You may share this content for personal use, including on social media, but it must not be used for any form of commercial or monetary gain without written permission from Polhill BBQ School.
  9. Intellectual Property
All recipes, class formats, and teaching materials are the property of Polhill BBQ School and are for personal use only. You may not replicate, distribute, or reproduce class content commercially.
  10. Liability Waiver
By attending a class, you accept all risks associated with food preparation, cooking, use of equipment, and food consumption. Polhill BBQ School and Polhill Garden Centre are not responsible for any injury, illness, loss, or damage arising from participation. You release all instructors, staff, and affiliates from any associated claims.
  11. Marketing & Communications
You may choose to receive marketing emails from Polhill Garden Centre when booking or by opting in via a separate form. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in our emails.
  12. Privacy
Your personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We do not share your details with third parties without consent unless legally required.
