Hours of work

Position 1: 8.30am to 4.30pm Sunday, Monday, Tuesday

Position 2: 8.30am to 4.30pm Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday

Responsibilities

Main Duties

• Assist with food preparation tasks, such as washing, peeling, and chopping ingredients.
• Operate the industrial dishwasher to clean kitchen equipment, utensils, and trays.
• Support general kitchen operations by emptying bins and removing rubbish.
• Ensure the kitchen meets health and safety and food hygiene standards, including cleaning fridges, freezers, and storage areas.
• Keep the bin storage areas and outside delivery bay tidy and clean.
• Organise and put away deliveries, ensuring stock and produce are properly rotated.
• Carry out daily, weekly, and monthly deep cleaning tasks as scheduled.

Other duties may include clearing tables and serving customers in the dining area as needed.

Days and hours of work

8.45am to 5.45pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays

Responsibilities

• Preparing and serving hot food, sandwiches, pastries, cakes, and scones.
• Baking cakes and sweet and savoury treats from scratch, following recipes and ensuring consistent quality.
• Taking customer orders.
• Ensuring the section is kept clean, safe, and hygienic.
• Maintaining the highest standards of personal hygiene and appearance.
• Complying with food hygiene and health & safety legislation at all times.

The role

Every year Polhill is transformed into a Winter Wonderland, with the Polhill Express making a stop instore and the lights twinkling everywhere you go!

However, it’s the anticipation of the arrival of the big man in red that gets everyone excited, so we are looking for some friendly and festive Elves to help in his popular Grotto.

Being one of our Elves is all about making sure the children have a magical experience, as well as providing great customer service to their parents, family and friends. The ideal candidate will be outgoing, enjoys interacting with children and their families and of course always has a smile on their face!

Your experience

Previous experience of children’s entertainment or theatre/drama experience is preferred but not essential. More importantly you have plenty of Christmas spirit and motivation to make this a memorable experience for everyone.

Days and hours

The Grotto is open on Saturday 8th November, Sunday 9th November, Saturday 15th November, Sunday 16th November, Saturday 22nd November, Sunday 23rd November and then from Thursday the 27th of November it is open every day until Wednesday 24th December. On every Saturday in November, the Grotto opens until 8pm. Once the Grotto is open every day from Thursday the 27th of November, it is open to 8pm on every Friday and Saturday.The hours of work are flexible and can involve working weekdays or weekends.
