Staff and their families and friends came together for this year’s Polhill Summer Staff Party, a chance to celebrate another fantastic year and recognise the hard work, dedication and teamwork that goes into making Polhill such a special place.

Held in the garden behind Novell’s Restaurant, the event brought colleagues from across the business together for an evening packed with fun, food and plenty of laughter. From familiar faces catching up outside of work to children enjoying the activities on offer, it was a wonderful reminder of the strong community spirit that runs through Polhill.

Fun for All the Family

This year’s party had something for everyone. Families enjoyed an evening of entertainment, with mini golf, face painting and a caricaturist proving particularly popular throughout the afternoon and evening.

One of the standout attractions was the disco piñata, which drew a crowd of excited children eager to see what surprises were hidden inside. Combined with the sunshine, great atmosphere and plenty of smiles, it helped create a relaxed summer festival feel that everyone could enjoy.

Wherever you looked, there seemed to be laughter, conversations and friendly competition, making it clear just how much people appreciated the opportunity to spend time together away from the day-to-day demands of work.

Directors Back on BBQ Duty

As always, the BBQ was one of the highlights of the evening.

Our directors once again stepped up to the grill, ensuring guests were well fed throughout the night. With plenty of food on offer and drinks flowing freely, nobody went hungry.

It's a tradition that has become a favourite part of the staff party. Seeing senior leaders roll up their sleeves and serve food is a reflection of the family atmosphere that has always been at the heart of Polhill.

A huge thank you goes to the directors for hosting the event and for taking the time to celebrate everyone’s contribution over the past year.

The Raffle Everyone Was Talking About

Later in the evening came one of the most anticipated moments of the night: the raffle.

This year’s prize table was packed with incredible giveaways, including YETI products, an outdoor furniture set, a BBQs, a pizza oven and even an extra day of annual leave.

The excitement built with every number drawn, and there were certainly some very happy winners heading home with their prizes. Even those who didn't win enjoyed the fun, with plenty of good-natured cheering, groaning and laughter as the prizes disappeared one by one.

A Team Effort Behind the Scenes

While the party itself may only last one evening, a huge amount of work goes into making it happen.

Special thanks must go to our Events Manager and the wider team who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to organise the entertainment, source prizes, coordinate activities and ensure everything ran smoothly from start to finish.

Their hard work helped create an evening that many staff were still talking about when they returned to work the following day.

Events like the Summer Staff Party are a chance to pause and recognise the people who make Polhill what it is. From our retail teams, gardeners and restaurant staff to our office, warehouse and support teams, every colleague plays an important role in the success of the business.

Most importantly, it was an opportunity to thank everyone for their continued hard work, commitment and enthusiasm throughout the year.

Judging by the stories being shared the following morning and the number of people already asking about next year’s party, it’s safe to say the evening was a huge success.
