Polhill Garden Centre in Kent is a family owned and day-to-day run business with over 50 years of trading experience. We strive to create the perfect shopping experience and day out for the whole family to enjoy, which is why our garden centre has undergone some major refurbishments over recent years.
We introduced the first of many refurbishments to Polhill Garden Centre in 2016. Starting by renovating the gift and furniture area, we were able to create an entirely new shopping environment and experience. Our aim was to make the areas more accessible and comfortable for consumers to enjoy. Once this was achieved, we went on to do the same throughout the Sundries department.
All of our newly refurbished area feature double-width aisles, ideal for wheelchair use or larger groups and families, new flooring, new shelving and new low-energy lighting to help reduce our carbon footprint. By 2020, we hope to have reconditioned the entirety of Polhill Garden Centre.
More recently, however, we have worked on the plant area of Polhill. We have added completely new display benches that feature flood watering, allowing us to use only half the amount of water we previously used. We have also installed new, state-of-the-art flooring in this area; TruGrip. TruGrip flooring is a pebble and resin hybrid that allows for fast drainage and perfect grip in all weather conditions, helping to provide maximum safety for our customers all year round.
In summer 2017, the Polhill Garden Centre team worked hard to offer a fantastic range of family activities for the whole family. We opened our outdoor area with the brand-new Play Zone, which includes quad bikes, boats, mini-golf and a play area. We ensured the Play Zone was adjacent to the dining area to allow adults to relax with a spot of lunch whilst kids let loose under their watchful eye.
