Incorporating organic matter into soil helps improve soil structure and reduces compaction. It improves soil’s ability to hold onto nutrients and moisture encouraging beneficial organisms such as earthworms and friendly bacteria to thrive. Roses in particular thrive when soil is enriched with manure.

Established roses: Use 1-2 handfuls (25–50g) per rose bush, scattering the pellets evenly over the soil around the base of the plant. Work the pellets into the soil and water if dry to encourage the feed to start working
For best results: A first feed in spring once the roses have started into new growth, to ensure a first flush of quality blooms. A second feed in summer after the first flush of flowers has faded, to encourage even more blooms to form.
New roses: When planting new roses, incorporating Westland Rose Food into the planting soil will ensure they establish fully and quickly develop into healthy, bountiful plants. Mix 1–2 handfuls (25–50g) of Westland Rose Food into the soil at the bottom of the planting hole
Small, large or climing roses: Adjust the amount of Westland Rose Food you apply according to the size of the rose; less for very small roses, more for very large and climbing roses.
Other plants: Westland Rose Food is great for use all around the garden. It is particularly suitable for garden shrubs or fruit trees and bu shes as it contains lots of the nutrients these plants need to perform really well.

This superb mid season variety is without doubt the leading commercial blueberry to date. Vigorous upright growth reaching 4-6ft at maturity but can be kept compact by growing in a container. The high quality fruit has a good rich flavour and is borne in medium-large open clusters for easy picking. The firm berries are light blue in colour and are ideal for all purposes. Stunning bronze foliage in the autumn followed by attractive red stems in winter. Frost tolerant. Self fertile, but cross pollination will encourage a greater yield.

Heavy cropping variety with a vigorous upright habit. Huge crops of large firm fruits with an aromatic flavour. The delicious berries are high in vitamins and ideal for freezing as they maintain their flavour. Superb display of pinky white, bell-shaped flowers in spring and outstanding autumn colour add to its appeal. This robust and reliable variety is also ideal for container growing. Self fertile, but cross pollination will encourage a greater yield.

This popular early variety is the first whitecurrant to crop in the season.  A heavy cropping variety producing masses of large, shiny, soft pale yellow/white berries in long heavy trusses during mid-late summer. The fruit is deliciously sweet, not as acidic as redcurrant, so is great for eating fresh or using in a wide range of culinary purposes. White Versailles has a vigorous, upright bushy growth habit with attractive arching canes and serrated three lobed pale green leaves. An excellent very hardy, yellow fruiting mid-season variety.  Hinnonmaki Yellow has a spreading growth habit and may require support in maturity.  It is a heavy cropper of medium sized, greenish-yellow berries with a unique aromatic flavour (and a hint of apricot according to experts!)  Specifically bred in Finland for hardiness and disease resistance, it is particularly resistant to powdery mildew.  The fruit is sweet enough to be eaten straight from the bush and is delicious in desserts and preserves.  Eventual height: 1.2m (4ft).  Eventual spread: 1½m (5ft).  Cropping season: mid July.  Self fertile.
